SBS’s new drama The Fiery Priest Season 2, starring Kim Nam Gil, Lee Ha Nee, and Kim Sung Kyun has confirmed its release date for November 8 and unveiled a teaser poster.
The Fiery Priest Season 2 is a comic investigation drama that follows hot-blooded, justice-driven priest Kim Hae Il as he heads to Busan to pursue a drug case that occurred in Gudam District.
The K-drama is the follow-up to The Fiery Priest, a mega-hit with a peak rating of 24% (according to Nielsen Korea, based on the Seoul metropolitan area). The series is returning after 5 years in response to the requests from viewers since the end of Season 1.
The Fiery Priest Season 2 retains its cast and crew including writer Park Jae Bum, and director Park Bo Ram, who who co-directed Season 1.

Kim Nam Gil retains his role as the hot-blooded Catholic priest Kim Hae Il. In Season 2, Kim Hae Il is portrayed as Bellato, a special fiery priest, who has been chosen by the Pope and granted the authority to implement justice. He will face off against a new force of evil.
Lee Ha Nee returns as one-of-a-kind prosecutor Park Gyeong Sun, who was villainous in Season 1 but transforms into an apostle of justice in Season 2. As she steps up as Kim Hae Il’s assistant, Gomez, curiosity builds about her secret activities.
Kim Sung Kyun returns as Detective Koo Dae Yeong of Gudam Police Station’s violent crimes unit. Like Park Gyeong Sun, Koo Dae Yeong will also join Kim Hae Il in Busan as his reliable assistant, Gomez.
The production team stated, “In The Fiery Priest Season 2, the fiery priest Kim Hae Il receives a new mission as Bellato, and the story will follow his and his loyal allies’ battle to take down a cartel of evil. Kim Nam Gil, Lee Ha Nee, and Kim Sung Kyun will show such perfect chemistry that the 5-year gap feels nonexistent. We are confident that this work will live up to the long-awaited expectations, as it has been eagerly anticipated for so long.”
The Fiery Priest Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on November 8. More news about the K-drama’s global OTT platform is yet to come.
