Queen of Tears Jung Ji Hwan joins Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin new K-drama!

Rising actor Jung Ji Hwan will be part of the cast of the upcoming MBC K-drama When the Phone Rings.

On November 8, It was officially confirmed that Jung Ji Hwan will join Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin in the upcoming thriller romance series When the Phone Rings.

This will be his second K-drama project for 2024. 

Jung Ji Hwan became a scene stealer in the hit tvN K-drama Queen of Tears. He played Kim Soo Hyun‘s secretary in the series, capturing attention with his seemingly innocent image before shocking viewers with a surprising betrayal.

The actor started his acting career in 2016. He has appeared in the K-dramas Sweet Stranger and Me, When the Camellia Blooms, Hyena, King Maker: The Change of Destiny, and Hush. He also starred in the 2022 film Spring Day. 

When the Phone Rings will revolve around a couple of three years who got together through an arranged marriage. The couple are pretending to be normal and happy to the public, but their lives change after the wife is suddenly abducted by a mysterious person. The upcoming K-drama will be based on the popular web novel of the same name published on Kakao Page.

The upcoming K-drama will be led by Yoo Yeon Seok, Chae Soo Bin, Heo Nam Jun, Jang Gyu Ri, Jin Kyung, Han Jae Yi, and more. 

In the series, Jung Ji Hwan will portray the role of Jung Won Bin. He will work closely with Chae Soo Bin’s character Hong Hui Ju as he will be a rookie sign language interpreter. 

Director Park Sang Woo (The Forbidden Marriage and Terius Behind Me) and writer Kim Ji Woon (Doctor John and Hyde, Jekyll, Me) will work together to create the upcoming series. 

When the Phone Rings will exclusively premiere on MBC on November 22 at 9:50 PM KST. It will have a total of 12 episodes.
