Netflix dropped a teaser for its upcoming supernatural thriller Hellbound Season 2.
Season 2 picks up from where the story left off in Season 1. Netflix’s synopsis reads, “In a chaotic world exacerbated by the continuous hellbound decrees, lawyer Min Hye Jin of Sodo, The New Truth Society, and the Arrowheads get entangled anew amidst the sudden resurrections of The New Truth’s Chairman Jung Jin Su and Park Jung Ja.”
Kim Hyun Joo returns as Min Hye Jin, In a world where indiscriminate decrees and demonstrations continue to cause turmoil, Min Hye Jin leads Sodo, a group opposing the New Truth Society and Arrowhead, which incite people while seeking the resurrected.
Kim Sung Cheol plays Jung Jin Soo (previously portrayed by Yoo Ah In in Season 1), the founding chairman of the New Truth Society who secretly received a decree but has now suddenly been resurrected. This heightens curiosity about what kind of repercussions his resurrection will trigger after he previously spread false beliefs.
Kim Shin Rok retains her role as Park Jung Ja, a woman the entire nation witnessed being sent to hell in a live demonstration in Season 1. She has now been resurrected after four years.
Additionally, there’s Cheon Se Hyung (Im Sung Jae), a mysterious figure who witnessed Jung Jin Soo’s resurrection and takes care of him; Lee Soo Kyung (Moon So Ri), the senior secretary for political affairs at the presidential office, who plans to create a new doctrine around the resurrected Park Jung Ja to empower the New Truth Society; and “Teacher of the Sunshine Class” (Moon Geun Young), a key instigator of Arrowhead.
The newly released teaser depicts a world plunged deeper into chaos by ongoing decrees and executions, where the resurrected Jung Jin Soo and Park Jung Ja emerge. The New Truth Society, weakened by the absence of its founding chairman Jung Jin Soo and the survival of the baby who received a decree, begins to lose influence, while Arrowhead seizes the opportunity to expand its power through agitation and propaganda, attacking the doctrines of the New Truth Society.
As the government struggles to maintain order in the face of chaos, the sudden resurrection of Park Jung Ja draws the attention of the authorities. Lee Soo Kyung, the senior secretary for political affairs at the presidential office, approaches the New Truth Society — which has been hiding Park Jung Ja — in an attempt to establish a new order.
Hellbound Season 2 teases an unpredictable battle between Sodo, the New Truth Society, Arrowhead, and the government, all surrounding the newly resurrected.
Hellbound Season 2 will premiere on October 25, only on Netflix.
