Nam Joo Hyuk, Roh Yoon Seo, and Cho Seung Woo are the main leads of the upcoming K-drama East Palace.
On December 12, Netflix confirmed the production of the upcoming occult historical K-drama East Palace. They also confirmed that Nam Joo Hyuk, Roh Yoon Seo, and Cho Seung Woo will be the main leads.
East Palace will tell the story of ghosts that keep appearing in the palace, which is full of deep secrets. A ghost mower and a court lady sneak into the palace to solve the problem.
The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Choi Jung Gyu (The Devil Judge) and writers Seo Jae Won, and Kwon So Ra ((Bulgasal: Immortal Souls).
East Palace will exclusively premiere worldwide on the streaming platform Netflix.
Nam Joo Hyuk will portray the role of Gu Cheon in the series. He will infiltrate the palace to solve the mysterious happenings in the palace and the royal family. Through this, he will encounter an unimaginably dark world.
This will be the comeback K-drama of Nam Joo Hyuk after two years. This will also be his first K-drama project after he got discharged from the military. Nam Joo Hyuk was last seen in the 2023 Disney+ K-drama Vigilante.
Roh Yoon Seo will portray Saeng Gang’s role, as a palace court lady. She will use her ability to unveil the mysterious secrets of the palace with Gu Cheon.
This will be the official comeback of Roh Yoon Seo to the small screen. This year, the actress did not star in any K-dramas and only made special appearances in the series Love Next Door and The Frog.
Lastly, Cho Seung Woo will portray the role of the King in the K-drama. He secretly asks for help from Gu Cheon and Saeng Gang to solve the mysterious happenings in the palace and the royal family.
This K-drama will also be the comeback of Cho Seung Woo to the small screen. The actor was last seen in the 2023 series Divorce Attorney Shin. He worked alongside Han Hye Jin, Kim Sung Kyun, Jung Moon Sung, Kang Mal Geum, and Jeon Bae Soo.
