Nam Ji Hyun and Moon Sang Min will reportedly star together in a new rom-com K-drama

Nam Ji Hyun and Moon Sang Min are in discussion to lead a new romantic comedy historical K-drama.

On October 24, media outlet Star News released an exclusive report stating that Nam Ji Hyun and Moon Sang Min will be the main leads of the upcoming KBS K-drama Dear Bandit (literal translation).

Dear Bandit will showcase the romance between a woman who accidentally became a bandit and a prince who will chase her but will also eventually sway souls with her. The two will protect each other by swapping souls. The script of the drama won the contest that was held by Studio Dragon in 2020. It was written by author Lee Sun.

Nam Ji Hyun will reportedly play the role of Hong Eun Jo. She is the daughter of a noble father and a slave mother. She is also known as “Hong Gil Dong.” She hides her existence as a woman and aims to steal from corrupt people.

Moon Sang Min got the offer to play the role of Lee Yeol, the Prince of Dowol. He is known for his outstanding appearance. He enjoys detective investigations and will encounter Hong Eun Jo. The prince will fall in love at first sight with Hong Eun Jo.

There is no official confirmation yet on the exact airing date of the upcoming K-drama. It will exclusively premiere on KBS 2TV.

If Nam Ji Hyun confirms her casting, this will be her follow-up K-drama project after the hit SBS series Good Partner. This will also be her grand comeback to the historical genre after almost seven years. She last starred in a historical K-drama in 2018 through the hit series 100 Days My Prince.

Meanwhile, this will also be the possible follow-up K-drama of Moon Sang Min. Just last month, the actor led the K-drama Cinderella at 2 AM. He worked alongside Shin Hyun Been, Yoon Park, Girls Day’s Park So Jin, Jin Hee Kyung, and Lee Kyu Sung. The actor will also make his movie debut next year through the upcoming film Pavane for the Dead Princess.
