Ji Hye Won confirmed to work with 2PM’s Ok Taec Yeon and Girls Generation’s Seo Hyun in a new K-dram

Rising actress Ji Hye Won is confirmed to join the upcoming K-drama Taking the Male Lead’s First Night

According to the exclusive report of media outlet Ten Asia on November 19, Ji Hye Won is joining hands with 2 PM’s Ok Taec Yeon and Girls Generation’s Seo Hyun in the upcoming webtoon-based K-drama. 

Taking the Male Lead’s First Night will tell the story of male and female protagonists unexpectedly transposed into the roles of minor characters in a novel. A passionate romantic relationship develops between the leads following a shared intimacy. The K-drama is a fantasy romance set in the Joseon Dynasty. The story will be depicted from the web novel/webtoon of the same name by Hwang Do Tol. 

Ji Hye Won will portray the role of Do Hwa Seon. She is the queen of social circles and is known for her sharp tongue, greed, and temper. She is the daughter of the Left State Councilor.

The upcoming fantasy romance K-drama will reportedly premiere on KBS. There is no official confirmation yet on the airing date of the series. 

This year, Ji Hye Won impressed viewers with her performance in the Netflix original K-drama Hierarchy. She convincingly portrayed Yun He Ra, a character consumed by obsession, inferiority, and jealousy towards the male and female lead. Many viewers also liked her chemistry with actor Lee Won Jung in the Netflix series. 

Ji Hye Won started her acting career in 2019. She played a supporting role in the K-drama Justice. She is also known for being part of the K-dramas It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, The Sound of Magic, My Perfect Stranger, and more.

Taking the Male Lead’s First Night will be Ji Hye Won’s first project for 2025.
