Hello Venus member Lee Hwa Kyum will star in her second K-drama for 2024.
On November 12, it was officially confirmed that Lee Hwa Kyum will be added to the cast lineup of the upcoming KBS K-drama Miss Granny.
She will join Kim Hae Sook, Jung Ji So, B1A4’s Jung Jin Young, Chae Won Bin, Lee Kwang Hee, and In Gyo Jin.
Miss Granny will tell the story of O Mal Sun, a 74-year-old grandmother who will turn into a 20-year-old woman overnight and will experience youth once again. The K-drama will be the remake of the blockbuster movie Miss Granny which premiered in 2014.
Director Park Yong Soon (Wanted and Secret Mother) and writer Heo Seung Min (Risky Romance) will work together to create the upcoming K-drama.
Lee Hwa Kyum will portray Rina’s role in the series. She is a performance director and the marketing team leader of Eunice Entertainment. She will work closely with Jung Jin Young’s character Daniel Han who is a producer in the same company.
Miss Granny will premiere in December. It will be the follow-up K-drama after Face Me concludes.
This will be the last K-drama project of Lee Hwa Kyum for the year. She is currently starring in Face Me in a supporting role.
Lee Hwa Kyum became known to the public as part of the girl group Hello Venus. She was active as a girl group member from 2012 to 2019. After her contract expired, she decided to pursue more on her acting career.
