The Trunk dropped stills featuring Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin.
The Trunk is a mystery melodrama about two individuals entwined in a contract marriage and the secrets of this contract marriage service that come to light after a trunk surfaces on a lakeshore.
The stills give a glimpse of the unusual first meeting of the contract married life of No In Ji (Seo Hyun Jin) and Han Jeong Won (Gong Yoo).
Han Jeong Won is No In Ji’s fifth marriage partner. Her indifferent expression contrasting with a pure white wedding dress piques intrigue. Seo Hyun Jin is expected to strongly portray the empty self of No In Ji.
Actress Seo Hyun Jin commented, “No In Ji is a person who lacks courage and is timid but has strong selflessness.”
Han Jeong Won is a music producer whose life is filled with anxiety and loneliness because of the pain from his past. He faces No In Ji, who fills the void left by his ex-wife, Lee Seo Yeon (Jung Yun Ha), with a cold expression.
Curiosity grows about how No In Ji’s presence will impact Han Jeong Won’s colorless world. Gong Yoo shared, “He is a character who is emotionally unstable, lonely, and living a miserable life. I envisioned him as someone who doesn’t reveal his true self or emotions and has a strong self-defense characteristic.”
Director Kim Kyu Tae emphasized, “The anticipation surrounding Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo was the top reason I decided to direct The Trunk,” adding, “They surpassed all expectations.”
The Trunk will premiere worldwide on Netflix on November 29.
