2022 Luna crypto crash-inspired K-movie ‘Death Business’, starring late Song Jae Rim, drops stills

The late Song Jae Rim‘s posthumous film Death Business has unveiled stills.

Inspired by the 2022 Luna Coin Crash incident, Death Business tells the story of young people who abuse bonus points intended for youth, women, and disabled individuals to fraudulently receive startup support funds, only to go through intentional bankruptcies and closure of businesses.

The stills depict the journey of Yang Do Hyun (Song Jae Rim), a self-proclaimed and widely recognized business genius who develops a cryptocurrency named MOMMY. The images chronicle his descent into corruption from 2009 to 2023 in his relentless pursuit of success. The film raises curiosity about the harsh realities faced by young entrepreneurs who exploit bonuses for youth, women, and disabilities to fraudulently obtain startup funds, only to repeatedly face intentional bankruptcies and closures.

Notably, Death Business draws its inspiration from a real-life incident that produced numerous victims and remains unresolved in the judicial system. Due to its sensitive subject matter, the film underwent meticulous pre-production research, including detailed legal reviews and consultations based on case studies. It is a project supported by the Korea Creative Content Agency in the New Media Content category.

Director Hyun Hae Ri took the helm. The cast includes Kokdu: Season of DeityAhn Woo YeonMin Sung Wook (PinocchioSchool 2017While You Were SleepingMay It Please the Court), So Hee Jung (Miraculous BrothersPsychopath DiaryTwenty-Five Twenty-One), and Cha Jung Won (Lawless LawyerShe Was Pretty).
