Jin Seon Kyu Talks About Amazon’s Dried-Up Waters at “Archers of Amazon” Press Conference

Ryu Seung Ryong (Moving, Kingdom) and Jin Seon Kyu (RevenantThe Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punchshare their thoughts on filming in Brazil for Archers of Amazon. 

On the morning of September 24, a press conference for the film Archers of Amazon was held in Seoul, with actors Ryu Seung Ryong, Jin Seon Kyu, Yeom Hye Ran, and director Kim Chang Joo in attendance. 

On this day, Ryu Seung Ryong reflected on shooting in Brazil, saying, “I really felt like it was a great decision to go there,” and added, “The moment I saw the scenery, I thought, ‘This is the Amazon.'” He continued, “Once I arrived, I felt so glad. But it took 40 hours to get there. Even so, I thought the location was worth it.”

Jin Seon Kyu remarked, “Just like Ryu Seung Ryong said, when we got to the Amazon, just looking around, you could feel the purity that radiates from the people living there. It was really wonderful.”

He added, “However, whether it was due to the weather, the climate, or environmental issues, it was a severe dry season — the worst in 130 years. Seeing the Amazon’s dried-up waters firsthand really made me realize how serious the issues of the environment and climate change are.”

Archers of Amazon is a comedic action film about Jin Bong (Ryu Seung Ryong), a former national archery team member who meets Bbang Sik (Jin Seon Kyu), a Korean-American interpreter, and three Amazon warriors with gifted archery skills, leading to a thrilling adventure.  

Ryu Seung Ryong plays the role of former national archery team member Jo Jin Bong, Jin Seon Kyu plays the interpreter Bbang Sik, and Yeom Hye Ran takes on the role of Jin Bong’s wife, Soo Hyun.

Archers of Amazon is set to be released on October 30.
