Koo Ja Sung is returning to acting with Lee Se Young and Na In Woo’s K-drama Motel California

Koo Ja Sung is returning to acting after almost three years.

On November 7, Koo Ja Sung’s agency announced that the actor will be part of the cast of the upcoming K-drama Motel California

According to HB Entertainment, “Koo Ja Sung is joining the cast of the upcoming MBC K-drama Motel California which is scheduled to premiere in the first half of next year.”

This will be the comeback of Koo Ja Sung to acting after three years. The actor was last seen in the 2022 series Sponsor with Lee Ji Hoon, Han Chae Young, Ji Yi Soo, Kim Yun Seo, and Park Geun Hyung. 

Koo Ja Sung started his career as a model and officially began acting in 2018. He is known for being part of the K-dramas Work & Love Balance, The Secret Life of My Secretary, Was It Love? Genesis, and more. 

Motel California will reveal the story of a woman who returns to her hometown after 12 years and reconnects with her first love. Raised in a motel called Motel California in a rural area, the female lead was a constant subject of gossip due to her family’s circumstances. She then decided to move to Seoul after growing up. After twelve years, she returns to her hometown and rekindles a past romance. The upcoming K-drama will take its story from Shim Yoon Seo’s 2019 novel Home, Bitter Home.

 Lee Se Young, Na In Woo, Gu Won, and Choi Min Soo will be the main leads of the upcoming series. 

Koo Ja Sung will portray the role of Cha Seung Eon. He is a childhood friend of Na In Woo’s character Cheon Yeon Su. He was raised by Choi Min Soo’s character Ji Cheon Pil who is also the motel owner. He is usually a shy and quiet person but once his loved ones are bothered, he will not stay still.

Motel California will air in the first half of 2025. It will exclusively air on MBC.
